Sigil vs PandaDoc

A PandaDoc alternative for people who just need documents signed

PandaDoc is a document-creation suite with e-signatures inside it: proposals, quotes, a content library, analytics, priced per seat. If what you have is a finished contract and what you need is a signature on it, Sigil is the smaller tool for the job, priced per account.

PandaDoc's prices below are as reported in October 2026; we have not yet confirmed them on its pricing page. This page is not listed in search until we have.

What you would pay

The cheapest plan on each side that covers the month, on annual billing where PandaDoc prices that way. Sigil has one login per account, so a team shares one account.

Where PandaDoc is the better choice

  • A document builder: proposals and quotes with pricing tables, a content library, and a CPQ on the higher plans.
  • Document analytics: who opened what, which page, for how long.
  • CRM integrations (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive) that fill documents from deal records, and payment collection.
  • Approval workflows and team workspaces.
  • Unlimited documents on every paid seat.

Where Sigil is simpler

  • One price per account: Pro is $18.99 a month for 100 documents, not $19 to $49 for each person who sends.
  • The API and the MCP server from Pro; PandaDoc's API starts on Business at $49 a seat.
  • Nothing to build: the PDF or Word file you already have is the document, with glyphs typed where the fields go.
  • Signer pages on your own domain on Pro and up.
  • A free plan with a published limit: 3 documents a month, one signer each.

Switching from PandaDoc

Upload the contract as a PDF or Word file (export it from PandaDoc first), type a glyph where each field goes or place the fields in the editor, and send. Sigil does not build documents, so keep PandaDoc, or a word processor, for the writing. Signed documents stay in PandaDoc; download the ones you need.

How Sigil works has every glyph; the quickstart sends a first pact from code.

Questions

Yes. Both record the signer's consent under ESIGN and UETA, who signed, when and from where, and attach a certificate of completion with hashes of the document. Sigil calls that certificate the sigil.

No. Sigil signs the document you give it. Write the proposal in Word, Google Docs or PandaDoc, export a PDF or .docx, and send it through Sigil.

No, on either service. Sigil signers get a private link by email and sign in the browser.

Document packs that never expire ($0.60 to $1 a document) are used after the month's allowance; or move up a plan.
