Sigil vs SignNow

A SignNow alternative priced per account

SignNow is among the cheaper per-user e-signature plans. Sigil is priced per account instead: one price, a number of documents a month, the API and MCP server from Pro, and your own domain on the signing pages.

SignNow's prices below are as reported in October 2026; we have not yet confirmed them on its pricing page. This page is not listed in search until we have.

Where SignNow is the better choice

  • The lowest per-user price of the big names, with unlimited documents.
  • Bulk invites, conditional fields, payment collection and the rest of the airSlate suite.
  • Native mobile apps with offline signing.

Where Sigil is simpler

  • One price per account: Pro is $18.99 a month for 100 documents, however many people share it.
  • The API and the MCP server from Pro; SignNow's API is a separate plan.
  • Signer pages on your own domain on Pro and up.
  • Glyphs typed into the document, or the field editor on paid plans.
  • Monthly billing at the listed price; SignNow's monthly billing costs more than its annual price.

Switching from SignNow

Upload the same PDF or Word file, type the glyphs where the fields were (or place them in the editor), and save it as a template. Signed documents stay in SignNow; download the ones you need.

How Sigil works has every glyph; the quickstart sends a first pact from code.

Questions

Yes. Both record the signer's consent under ESIGN and UETA, who signed, when and from where, and attach a certificate of completion with hashes of the document. Sigil calls that certificate the sigil.

For one person sending a lot, yes: $8 a month with unlimited documents beats Sigil's Starter. Sigil is cheaper once two or more people send, or when the API or your own domain is wanted, since those are in Pro at one price.

No, on either service. Sigil signers get a private link by email and sign in the browser.

Document packs that never expire ($0.60 to $1 a document) are used after the month's allowance; or move up a plan.
